Stefan Bachmann is a music student and author currently living in an ancient house outside of Zürich, Switzerland. His debut, gothic-steampunk-faery-fantasy THE PECULIAR was published on September 18th, 2012, by Greenwillow/HarperCollins. It was a New York Times Editor's Choice as well as a Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2012, and was translated into eight languages. Its companion THE WHATNOT was released September 24th, 2013.
His next book THE CABINET OF CURIOSITIES, a collection of scary stories he wrote together with authors Emma Trevayne, Claire Legrand and Katherine Catmull, will be released on May 27th, 2014, from Greenwillow/HarperCollins.
His first YA book, DEAD MAN'S PALACE, about a group of American teens fighting to survive after they become trapped in an underground Versailles, will be out in 2015, also from Greenwillow/HarperCollins.
Stefan was born in Colorado but moved to Switzerland at a young age. He is a student of classical music at the Zurich College of Arts. He likes movies and music and chocolate and traveling and his friends. If he met you he would probably like you, too.
