First of all, Happy Christmas, 2nd Thank you for ALL uploads from Admin.
BUT...
The new method of posting is horrendous for those of us who have been with you for years.
Posting a Rapidgator folder makes it so difficult to work through to find what you are missing in your own folders.
I've just opened the RG folder for Kristen Proby.
There are 62 books in her collection. (Imagine Danielle Steel or Debbie Macomber for instance!)
But I have a lot of Kristen Proby's books already, and would like to add to the collection I have, but I've shut the RG folder without even bothering to try to downlioad anything.
Thank you for everything you've posted, and I completely understand that this single RG link to an author's books is easy for you.
But it's bloody awful for users, and I regret it's unlikely I will bother ongoing.
Life is just too short to have to sift through a folder which is in alphabetical order, so that everything is just a total mess.

I've already posted on this subject in the James Patterson thread - it's now pretty chaotic. Here's what I posted:
"I appreciate this site but the changes you've made to the layout of the rapidgator links now make it VERY hard to use. Before, you listed the links all IN ORDER and grouped by series, which was very helpful.
However, now, well take James Patterson as an example: it's now 4 pages of alphabetical chaos - different parts of various series are all spread across different pages and you don't know where you are, especially if that series is previously unknown to you and you don't know the titles or running orders.
You previously had a system that was logically well-presented and laid out and now it looks like that has all been thrown into a box and given a shake and emptied into a pile on the floor. I don't understand why..."

I'm just going to say thanks to the host/admin of this forum, for the time you spend providing a place to get audiobooks. I can't tell you how many times I have thought it must take an incredible amount of time to do this. The new posting method must save you hours and if it does I'm happy for you. I had to say something since this place is essentially free, or donation for the people who can give. I will be the one who says I greatly appreciate what provide, however you present it. Thanks

Hello and happy holidays to all!
A lot of links have died lately. As a simple example, just last week 5000 audiobooks from various authors died, two weeks ago 3000. I've chosen to put one link to the folder hopefully that they won't be so easy to report. It requires a lot of work and many hours to spend editing each individual link when I could be posting other NEW authors that I have on my list.
*There are very few authors who have more than 20/30 audiobooks.

I wish it to be known that as a FORUM, it is up to ALL of us to contribute.
NOT just expect 'Somebody else' to actually make the effort.
Some members never even say 'Thank You'
I currently have 8TB of unsorted Audiobooks, possibly 17,000 Authors.
Many of which will NEVER get sorted (nor will I even want to).
I have over 1000 Series pretty much sorted and 274 Authors Stand Alone sorted.
I CANNOT keep up with the latest releases.
This forum helps.
A LOT.
Firstly I will ask Admin just how many ACTIVE members there are on this forum.

This forum has 1315 registered users. But the forum can also be visited by unregistered users.
Of course, I can block all users who don't have an account, but in the first phase I wanted to make the information easy to access as possible.

1315 users. That is a nice healthy number of users.
In its simplest form, if each user 'Adopted' some authors and kept up to date with them we would all benefit.
With the Authors you have currently covered, 3200, that would be 3 authors per registered user.
Just ONE Google Drive has 15GB of Cloud storage.
That would hold pretty much all of James Patterson.
Just looking at my collection that is 17 different series in 11.5 GB of HDD space.
Personally I don't like Rapidgator, No account means SLOW downloads and limited to 3 per day.
Some people use Mediafire or Mega. Minimum 10GB for FREE per account.
This is why I set up my own cloud.
I am NOT a Tech Genius, I just had a couple of 4TB drives going spare.
Bought a Synology NAS enclosure and set it all up.
That gave me a 7TB Cloud.
So far I have used about 50% and that is ALL my (more or less) sorted Audiobooks and eBooks.
Just a small example of how we can ALL help each other.

I had an idea that might solve both problems we keep doing folders but we create a standardized naming scheme that includes the author name the series name and the book name in that order so what will happen is it will by default sort them in alphabetical order by series and if we really want to get a little fancier you can include the number in the series so that it alphabetically sorts them and keeps the order proper
That solves the issue of trying to figure out which book is which in a folder but it also allows us to mass upload so it'll be easier on the admins to upload things but also easier on the users to find the books they're looking for
All I'm really saying is use the fact that it sorts alphabetically to our advantage and just split up the file name with dashes or commas or even spaces so that you have the title at the end after you've put in the author name the series name and which book it is in the series so that when it comes to sorting it's more relying on the number in the series than anything else

I have been using this format for a few years now.
I must stress it was NOT my idea, but it seems to work.
Folder name:
Audiobook Series - CMD - Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X (12 Books)
Each book as a single file and named:
Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X 01 Orphan X
Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X 1.5 Buy A Bullet
Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X 02 The Nowhere Man
Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X 03 Hellbent
Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X 3.5 The Intern
And so on to the end of the book.
Similarly with the stand alone:
Folder name:
Gregg Hurwitz - Stand Alone
And the books:
Gregg Hurwitz - 1999 The Tower
Gregg Hurwitz - 2001 Minutes To Burn
Gregg Hurwitz - 2002 Do No Harm
And so on.
It keeps all the books in order and dates are the publication dates.

I currently have over 11 TB of audiobooks, virtually all sorted into Series, Standalones, Singles.
I name them all as dragonbandit does above, with the only difference being an extra hyphen
Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X 01 - Orphan X.
Gregg Hurwitz - 1999 - The Tower.
My folders have ~~Gregg Hurwitz - Orphan X
@Gregg Hurwitz - Novels
So they are easily identified on the hard drives; the punctuation at the beginning keep that type together.
Single books go into @Author Name - Novels when they produce another book.
I am obsessive about keeping all in order - especially as I had to rename when I recovered a 4TB drive.
I have posted the odd book on this forum, but have always felt....don't quite know how to put this, but not quite welcomed?
Because it was started by Admin (nothing wrong with your English BTW), and when I found it he/she was the ONLY poster, I always assumed that Admin was the only person supposed to post... so I stopped.
As regards Rapidgator, I started paying for it when I became serious about sharing and collecting.
This year, I've had a free year (I know not why and haven't queried), and my storage was raised to 12 TB at the same time. I would certainly keep on with RG for the storage alone, which is presumably why nearly every forum uses it widely. Real Debrid solves any other problems I have with other file hosts.
If Admin is happy for us all to be posting, I will certainly restart, especially if I can fill in series with missing books, for instance.

I removed the extra punctuation out of habit.
I am so old I remember the HUGE restrictions on filename.
Then came the restriction on the string length (Including folders)
I found that every single character counts. This became even more important when each book is also in a separate folder.
Being an engineer (retired) I operate under the K I S S regime  )
For my part, I have ALWAYS felt I was welcome by Admin. (Thank you for that)
I only tried to help, although I never wanted to 'Tread on anybody's toes'
Your collection is truly huge, I will probably not live long enough to reach that stage.
Quite right, Admin absolutely has the final word.

Yes! You're got it exactly - treading on other people's toes. There is no way I would want to do that.
As regards the size of my collection - I have diabetic retinopathy and started collecting audiobooks from Usenet when I was diagnosed diabetic over 20 years ago. I keep everything unless I'm told it's a bad recording or incomplete.
In those 20 plus years, I have listened to:
Leah Remini - her book about Scientology, can't remember title
Nick Wallis - The Great Post Office Scandal (horrifying!)
The eccentric couple, Giles & Mary from Gogglebox UK
Russell Jones - The Decade in Tory (again, bruly horrifying)
All non-fiction, which I never read. 4 books out of my collection isn't bad 
But at one time or another, on one platform or another, I've shared every book, even on Usenet way back when.

He is SO acid, but so very accurate unfortunately.

Interesting to see how people name the audiobooks.
I've a similar method, but I like adding brackets to make it stand out a little more:
Gregg Hurwitz - [Orphan X 1] - Orphan X
Gregg Hurwitz - [Orphan X 1e] - Buy A Bullet

In regards to Admin using a single Rapidgator link, it's only the tiniest bit of extra work for me. When I see that an author I'm interested in has been updated, I'll look to see what's been added, then just copy the name of the new book and use the Ctrl+F to search for it in the Rapidgator folder.
With everything Admin has done to provide us with such an amazing resource I'm absolutely fine with it taking a couple of extra steps to get the files.

I managed to replace a few dead links these days.
Today another surprise
Honestly, I don't know what to do. I know it's easy to say change the host or group them differently, but when you have thousands, tens of thousands of audiobooks the situation becomes difficult to impossible. And that's what I do in my free time, when I'm not at work. A full time work.
We will see...

I help a little bit, BUT I know it is just a drop in the ocean.
Even with my own little Cloud, my bandwidth just would NOT cope.

I completely agree, the new regime is awful.
I just looked at David Weber's books and with one single RG I would have to download 50 GiB to get to the one book I am looking for. I have limited download capacity and speed and this would take me two days if the download was not interrupted and had to start from the beginning. I shut the folder without even bothering to try to download anything.
Also, these huge download packages make it much more easier to include malware.
So thanks to the Administrator, but sorry I am out of this forum until the regime gets back to what it was.
Tried it with a new Download Manager. I can now download the individual books without problems. Thanks @drangonbandit

Bernd, I am not sure how you are getting to download ALL the books in the RG folder.
I copy the RG link to a new tab and I am presented with ALL of the individual books in the master folder.
They are listed in Alphabetical Order, so I look for the title I require.
I have THREE such pages open at the moment as I bring up to date each of the collections.
At worst, this is just a minor inconvenience, you have to know which book you require.
At best, IT IS FREE.

I just want to add I don't find the new way difficult to use. I guess I do miss the old way a bit, it was so very easy and clear with all our work done for us. But that was a TON of work and must have been so hard to keep up with. This way must be so much easier and we aren't losing anything, so what if it takes us a little minute, it's worth some effort on our part too. I appreciate the books and if I have to do some of the work, that's not a bother compared to all the Admins do.
I have nothing new to share but if I can ever be useful helping sort (or whatever) books for anyone, just ask. It's something I enjoy.

There's certainly a couple of books I have that I'd like to share to fill in some gaps, but I'd rather not risk my rapidgator account getting dmca'd/deleted...

Hi GrimerReaper, I am afraid there is NO real safe way to share.
I have gone about as far as I can with my own cloud.
BUT, if people start to share my links with just about anybody then I could be traced.
I started out by using my Google drive and moved on.
About the safest you can get is to ZIP the books and name the zip file with some obscure name and password protect it.
This still relies on those you share with NOT passing this on willy-nilly.
I shied away from RG because it is so slow without membership.
You could TRY a few free accounts like Mediafire or Mega.nz to give it a go.
We are still in the hands of the careless I am afraid

Just my 2 cents. I'm no fan of the new method but it's really no big deal. I see on the forum page to which series a book belongs and then finding the title in the RG folder is easy because they're in alphabetical order.No problem and I'm really, really glad this site exists.Many, many thanks to Admin.

For people that are finding it difficult to browse through rapidgator folders.
Please try the following.
Instead of subscribing to Rapidgator, I have subscribed to Real-Debrid. It is cheaper and more convenient.
I place the Rapidgator folder link in Real Debrid and let it generate download links for the files in the folder.
I don’t use these links. It is too time consuming.
Real Debrid creates a WebDAV server that contains the files for all links you pass to Real Debrid. I open this server on a file explorer. I copy what I need as I would from local file folder. This is much faster to find specific files in a list and all kind of file management tasks.

OH MY GOODNESS - this works absolutely perfectly.
I have trouble seeing the links on Rapidgator, but I've subscribed to Real Debrid for years, and just tried this method out.
Far easier to read and get what you want as each link is separated when they list themselves.
You've made an old lady very happy with this work-around today, so huge thank you!
I can start using the best audiobook on the internet site regularly again

I didn't understand the last part of your post, but when I put the single RG link into RD, clicked Unrestrict My Links, they just all list underneath the main window as single files. Then it's simply a case of Download the files I want.
